One year in Ohio

This week, one year ago, we left our home in Oklahoma and started our trek east. This year has just flown by. It has been a wonderful year for our family, with a lot of changes.

I feel different in many ways and for that I'm grateful. We loved Oklahoma and I still miss our home and friends, the zoo, the parks, the primary, the neighbors....

But Ohio is nice too.

For me this year has been nice, not so much because we are here in Ohio but because I really feel it's been a growing year for me. In Oklahoma I was always either pregnant or had a new baby. I think I was in survival mode most of the time.

Here things are different. I've had more time to focus on things I have always wanted to focus on, less on how things are going and more on how to make them go the way I want them to. I've had more time to focus on myself and more time to focus on others. I've been able to focus more energy on my home and my hobbies. I've had time to breathe.

It's nice.

When I look back at my time in Oklahoma I'm grateful for such wonderful friends (the ones still there and the ones that have moved) that still liked me even though I was crazy. I wish I had been a better friend and had been more giving and more aware of things outside of my life. I think they would like me better as I am now so I'm grateful they liked me even though I was a hormonal mess.

Here's to another year of growing.

It is nice to have a longer break between babies! I really enjoyed the last two years, not being pregnant, not having a baby and being able to do all sorts of stuff that I wanted to do! I'm glad it's been a good year for you! Jen

No one noticed you being 'hormonal' because ALL of us were sporting the chaotic post baby-hormons. Good times! We love you and miss you (and your great advice)here in the windy state!
