Oarai day three
Look at our tiny rental! We loved staying in this little, skinny house. It didn't feel tiny inside--it was skinny but long. The third day of our vacation we took the girls back to the beach. The girls probably would have gone to the beach every single day if we let them. Even though we put sunscreen on them, they still got burned after a second day of being at the beach for four hours. We took them to a different beach this time, which was more rocky, and there was no one else there but some fisherman and a few people walking along. The Japanese don't swim until mid-July and only swim until the end of August. I think that's weird. Being that this beach had large rocks and bigger waves, we didn't have the girls go out very far but they didn't seem to mind that. After four hours we had to drag them out of the water and they were not totally on board with being done. We ended the night with dinner from this delicious fried chicken place we found earlier in the week. It was just as good the second time. During the evenings the girls watched movies and stayed up late. I finished up a book I loved and we just relaxed. The weather was really pleasant the entire week, not like the sweltering heat we are suffering through this week. Our only complaint was that the beds were so hard that none of us slept well and every time we walked out the door we were attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. We were always making a mad dash to the van and then swatting all the mosquitoes that made their way into the van with us. Other than that, it was lovely!
