May and the final countdown

When I review the photos from May it makes my brain hurt how busy that month was.  How we packed so much into a month is impressive.  Most importantly, we celebrated Isaac graduating.  It's such a special day and I love how the school celebrates with a Senior walk through the hallways the day before.  It was really fun to go and watch Isaac from a distance with his friends.  It was really sweet to see the elementary and middle school kids so excited to celebrate the seniors with signs and cheers. It was especially sweet to see the little kids on their bus run and give Isaac hugs.  They all loved him as their bus monitor and he made some cute connections with these little kids.  They spent a lot of time together every day on the bus!

We also had school concerts, a school play, school picnics, and a Felicity-led conference where she shared all that she had learned throughout the year followed by a parent teacher conference the following week where the teacher shared what she had learned throughout the year.  I spent a lot of time driving back and forth to the school in May.

Mike and I subbed for seminary three times in May and we both really enjoyed that.  We ordered Isaac his mission suits and we had our first shipment packed and sent.  That actually happened on my birthday, April 30th, but it was the start of our transition to America.  We slept in a hotel that night and then waited for some loaner furniture to arrive the next day, spending the final two months living very sparsely, some of us sleeping on mattresses on the floor.  We survived and it wasn't that big of a deal.  We really felt like we could live more sparsely in the future after that experience.  It went much smoother than expected.
