More December

The most important thing in these pictures is that Eli received the priesthood.  I didn't get emotional when the other boys did but for some reason, this time with Eli, I did.  I'm proud of him and I'm excited to watch him grow in maturity and in his testimony as he takes on this responsibility.  He just got set apart so he hasn't passed the sacrament yet but it was pretty cute to watch him and his two other friends walk around the church today with the trash bags taking their new responsibility of cleaning that side of the church, up so seriously.  Also, he doesn't know yet but they are going to ask him to be the Deacon's quorum president.  Again, it really isn't that big a deal to me but for some reason this time, I'm really excited to see him take on this responsibility.  He and his two friends (there are only 3 deacons but he and his two friends just moved up today) are actually really obnoxious.  They are all 11 and think they are hilarious and do the weirdest things at church.  Eli seems to be the ring leader and can convince the other two boys to do weird things with him.  He seems very confident in his weirdness.  It's actually kind of fun to watch these three boys all be themselves and embrace each other in their quirky behavior.  They are soooo goofy!  That said, I am excited to see how being the leader changes him and helps him mature.  I think he will take his responsibility very seriously and hopefully it will help him to be a leader in a good way and he can calm the rowdy (but good-natured fun) behavior of these boys.
