July

July in Denver was mostly just getting the house ready.  We worked really hard and fast to get things unpacked and the house decorated.  I got mostly done but there are a lot of areas that still need my attention and truthfully, I've lost steam so it will probably not get done.  Everything is unpacked and most pictures are up.  I have closets that should be more organized and while Mike organized the basement, I'd like to figure out how to make it a usable space so that people actually want to be down there (it's unfinished).

The kids are making friends but that first month was kind of a pain because I had a lot to do and they were bored and spent way too much time on the computers and electronics or whining that they wanted to do something.

We went to the reservoir near us and it was cold!  We were so spoiled with the warm ocean.  By July, the Ocean is pretty much a warm bath and you only go swimming in the morning or evening.  We were also spoiled because our beaches were free and hardly ever crowded.  The reservoir is the only body of water nearby us so everyone goes there and it costs $10 to get in.  Not that bad but when you are used to free...That said, we were happy to find somewhere to cool off and pretend we were back at the beach.  I bought the girls a little blow up pool and filled it up but it never got warm enough.  Even though the days were hot, the evenings and mornings were cool so by the time it started to feel warm enough, the water was gross and needed to be emptied.  The kids played in the sprinkler a few times but never long either because they have been spoiled with a pool that is heated pretty much year round.  They swam in that pool almost every single day that we lived in Florida except for maybe part of December and January.

Our neighbors gave us two bikes--one for Piper and one for Eli so that has been really nice for them to ride bikes again.  There is also the library within two minutes walking distance and a little park down the road.  The neighbors have a boy that is 15 and in the afternoons he would come over and the big kids would all go to the park and talk or meet up some other kids there.  That helped a lot to have them make friends with Kai.
