Scoccer

We are in the middle of our first season of soccer.  All four kids were excited to try soccer this year.  We were happy when even Piper said she wanted to play.  We were able to get Isaac and Will on the same team but we still have four games to watch each week.  Will and Isaac play first, followed by Piper and Eli playing a game at the same time (we split up so and then switch places at half time so we can be sure to watch some of each game).  Finally, Eli plays a second game each week to finish off our day.  I'm not sure why he plays two and the other kids only play one.  Will likes soccer, Isaac and Eli are loving it, and Piper has a love-hate relationship with it.  She is doing better than I anticipated.  She is so much like I was when I was her age.  She is so shy and timid around other people.  I remember Mom taking me to swimming lessons in California and screaming the entire time and clinging to the life guard.  Piper isn't quite that bad thankfully but she is very hesitant.  She looks forward to practice every week and after practice she jabbers about it like she was super involved and had a great time but during practice and the game, she just kind of follows behind and if the ball comes near her she kind of watches it go by.  It's actually way more than I expected her to do though so I'm really proud of her!  She and another kid tripped over each other during the game on Saturday and even though she wasn't hurt, she started to cry because she was embarrassed and scared.  It took some convincing to get her to go back on to the field but she did.
