Fire Safety

I forgot to post about our awesome Family Home Evening a few months ago.  We have a friend who is a fire fighter for the city of Colorado Springs.  We asked him if he would mind coming to our house and helping us do some fire safety stuff.  We did a fire drill in our house in Ohio and thought we should do something similar here since we now live in a two story house.  Our friend went all out for the kids!  He started by talking to them (and us) about fire safety and we all learned things we didn't know before.  Then he dressed up in his fire garb and then let all the kids dress up too.  He also walked us through some of the things we would need to make our house safer (extinguisher, ladder for the windows upstairs, etc).  It was such a great evening and we are so grateful that he came and took time out of his already busy schedule to teach us about fire safety.  Plus, he brought his awesome family with him so it was fun to visit and play and made for an overall great Family Home Evening.
