Well, it's not twins...

Since most of the people here in Ohio know and our families know, I guess it's time to announce that we are expecting baby number 4. I had my first appointment this week and got an ultrasound. Baby is very squirmy, kicking and moving quite a lot as proven by the ultrasound. If fact, I might be crazy but I swear I am feeling movement already. Is that possible at 11 weeks?

Each of my pregnancies have been different from each other. This is somewhere in between Will and Eli. I was sick all nine months with Will, throwing up for the majority of the pregnancy. Eli was much more normal, sick around five weeks and better by 15 but it was mostly normal morning sickness. I was sick in the mornings and then things got better as the day went on. This one is a mixture. I pretty much feel sick off and on the entire day but I'm not throwing up very much. I am taking some anti nausea medication and I do think it is helping because when I briefly stopped taking it I couldn't keep any food down. I'm hoping there is only a few more weeks of this but if this pregnancy turns out more like Will's, we'll just deal with it.

The boys want a girl desperately and Mike and I don't really care, though, as you all know, girls freak me out.

Baby number 4 is due May 8th. Anyone believe we'll make it that long? The arrival of this baby is a major source of anxiety or me so I usually choose not to think about it. Our report date to Colorado Springs is supposed to be April 30th. We may ask to be moved a month later so as to avoid driving across the country 9 months pregnant. I have nightmares of my water breaking somewhere on the freeway and delivering in our van, with three curious little boys watching. Chances are, the baby will come sooner than April 30th but you never know. (My birthday is April 30th and Eli's birthday is April 15th...I don't want to share either of those birthdays with another; everyone needs their own birthday).

While at the doctors I asked him why at 10 1/2 weeks I looked like I was 20 weeks. He told me he was pretty certain I had diastasis, which explains a lot. So there is a reason that since having Isaac, 4 years ago, I have looked pregnant even when I wasn't. I'm not just fat. Which leads me to the title of the post.

Mike and I joked that we were expecting twins. He was hoping that was true and I was only hoping that was true so I had an explanation to give to all the rude, thoughtless people that have made comments to me (though, I shouldn't have to give any explanation). Alas, there are no twins, just one little squirmy baby. We are very excited for this baby to join our family.

Well, you must not look THAT pregnant because I had no idea! Congratulations!!! And girls really aren't that scary (if you have one). Actually, they're a lot of fun.

I'm glad you asked the doctor about the ab thing. I thought it was that. That's what my friend had and she had to get it surgically fixed after she was done having children. I'm glad you have an explination for people, even though you're right...you don't have to provide one. :) I hope all goes well with everything you've got coming up in the future. Good luck!

Congrats! I don't think you're crazy at all- I swear I've been feeling movement for a couple weeks and I'm only in my 14th week! I hope it all goes smoothly for you! And, it's SO sweet that your boys want a girl!

Congratulations!! I am scared of boys, not girls. I think that's why we have three girls and another on the way, lol. That is exciting for your family. Good luck with everything; I hope your nausea subsides soon. I remember you being so sick with Will, and I hope that doesn't happen again.
Thanks everyone!

Kim, thank you.

Cherstin, you too. I know you are due close to the same time and that you are sick. I hope you get better soon.

Katie, you are part of the minority in thinking that because when I do tell people they say something like, "I already knew. You are showing already." Because I want to hear that.

Ilona, I think it's getting better. Hopefully just a few more weeks.

Marcy, thanks.

Lindsey, you were right. Now I know what's wrong and can hopefully get it fixed.

Brooke, thanks. I will be keeping watch on you through the blog--I hope your baby doesn't come before Mike gets back!!

Lisa, Thanks.

Jess, Thanks.

Frances, we need to hang out. That Indian food we made for you guys killed me. When you left I threw my guts up...for the next few days. And the smell from the food lingered in our house and I couldn't stand it. It's not allowed in my house until after the baby comes...if ever! Ha, Ha.

Lisa, Thank you. Don't be worried about having a boy. They are busy...but fun.

To everyone: I mean it when I say we would be happy to have a girl. I'm just nervous about what I don't know. There are good and bad about both. I'm just a mom of three boys and I love it and I feel like boys get a bad rap and I need to be an advocate for them. Have more boys!! But, there will also be celebrating if it's a girl.

Congrats! I am 8 months in and still have to take Zofran daily, but whatever works. Girls have cuter clothes but I prefer boys, myself.

When we we in California and had a large family we used to get cat calls when we drove down the freeway. Who cares? I sure don't. I would not leave one of you out. You are all so unique and wonderful. I wish I had been a better parent, but I am still trying.
