Can he really be 15?
Ammon turns 15 today. That's pretty unbelievable. I vividly remember the night mom told us she was pregnant and then telling us he would have Spina Bifida. I remember us all kneeling in a circle after Family Home Evening, saying a prayer for mom and our unborn brother. There are too many memories to write about now but some day I might share some.
Ammon coming to our family has had a profound impact on me. The meaning of love, the truth of the Resurrection, the power of prayer and faith, just to name a few are all things that have become more to me.
Because of Ammon, a large majority of my life has been spent teaching, volunteering, and working with children with disabilities. They are special individuals that the Lord loves immensely.
My love for Ammon is deep and I am grateful he is here to celebrate his fifteenth birthday! I wish I could be there to celebrate it with him.
I am not the only one who loves Ammon. Everyone that meets him loves him. He has a spirit that radiates love and happiness. Last year, over a hundred people wrote birthday messages to Ammon to help brighten his usually happy spirits. He was in the hospital and we were all very worried about him. He's home now and happy and singing again. To watch a video about Ammon, you can watch it here.
