The caves and some swimming
Are you getting tired of all the posts and pictures yet? I still have three more days to blog about so hopefully you aren't too bored yet.
The boys and Grandma and Grandpa Richards showed up at the condo on Tuesday night. I think Grandma and Grandpa were so relieved to be passing on the boy watching duties finally.
Early Wednesday we drove to a potato factory where we watched them make kettle style potatoes and then Grandma and Grandpa bought a box for all of us to share. Yum. Mike is very interested in the production of food and is always talking about how he should have gone into food science as a major. Weirdo. Anyway, this was a perfect little trip for him.
After the potato factory we went to the Shenandoah Caves. Eli and Isaac weren't too thrilled to be there but Will really enjoyed it. He kept saying the caves were filled with minerals and if we owned some of those minerals we could be rich. He got to wish in a wishing pool in the cave when Dave gave him a coin and he later told me that his wish was for us to have lots of money and be rich. That's my wish too! Should I be worried that my five year old is making wishes about being wealthy?
Dave and Tana had to leave after we saw the caves because Tana had to work that night and needed to get some sleep before she went to the hospital for her shift. I was very sad to see them go but we will hopefully get to see them one more time before we move to Colorado.
When we got back from the caves we put Eli down for a nap and Mike and his dad played a game. After the nap we took the boys swimming. Will is such a fish and Isaac is like a tadpole. He is getting much braver about the water and even let us swim with us in the pool. Usually he just holds on to the stairs so this was definitely an improvement.
The caves were featured in a magazine claiming they had the most realistic bacon. They had these little hanging bacon features all throughout the caves. It was very cool.
You can't tell in this picture but the stuff behind us is all glimmery like diamonds. They said this was a perfect place to get married so we pretended to be getting married.
This is a blurry picture but I love it.
