Master's Degree Selection

I have to choose which Master's Dergee program I want to enroll in. I've put a poll on the right where you can provide me with your input. There is also a link directly under the poll that will take you to the schools academic specialty code page. If you click on the degrees, a page will open that tells what each specific code focuses on--you have to scroll down and find them--or you can just do a search if you have any questions about what each degree is about.

I have two questions:

Which do you think you would be most interested in doing?

Which will make you the most money when you are out of the military?

I vote for one not on your list -- Electro-optics. Unless I mis-read, it looks more on the robotic side of electrical engineering and I think that would end up offering you the best option when you get out of the military but I may be wrong about that.
I thought nuclear physics would be a good way to go until I read the description - it's all about weapons, not the practical use of nuclear energy. I suppose you would learn that side of it, as well, but I wasn't sure. That would be my second choice because I think America is going to have to go to nuclear energy in the future and move away from the oil-based fuel. If this degree would be practical and without just how to build weapons to destroy the world, then I think it would have a great future.
Ultimately, you will choose what interests you most and we'll cheer for you no matter what our uniformed thoughts may be.

I meant "uninformed ideas", not uniformed. (Maybe the idea would be dressed in Air Force uniforms...dumb.)

Mike! You're a smarty pants. I know we can look to see what those programs are all about, but seriously - what in the world are they all about? I haven't a clue. :)
That's all really exciting, though!
Good luck with all of it!

So I decided Mechanical Engineering, because you probably could work in a hospital (one that James is running) under that degree, so that is the foundation for my answer. Anything that will get you closer to us. By the way...Talon wants to move back to Oklahoma to be with Will. He's willing to adopt your family in order to do so. We miss you guys a lot too.
Ali, we miss you too. We really miss Talon and the play days. Will still doesn't really understand why you aren't coming back. James should get a job in Colorado so that we can be together again!
Oh, and I just want to tell you all that Mike is loving the comments. He loves when he gets comments.
Even though I couldn't find Mechanical engineering on the programs page, it seems like a better choice than what I read of the other programs. If I could only choose from the ones on the list I would have chosen material sciences.

I am leaning towards nuclear because it seems like that will become a bigger thing over the next 20 years. Or it will in theory as we try to become self sufficient in our energy needs.
