Hope they don't get moldy





Mike got our pictures downloaded so we have a few to post. I'm going to Utah in a few hours so I'm not going to spend time posting the Children's Museum pictures now. You can check my facebook if you really want to see them. I don't ever use facebook....but I did post pictures so you can check them out.


We carved pumpkins on Monday. It's a little early but I won't be back until the 27th and that clearly isn't enough time to enjoy our awesome pumpkins.

Those are pretty awesome (and here I was quite impressed that I got my eyes symmetrical). We carved ours early, and Dick's been saying "I told you so" ever since it went moldy. Had to throw it out yesterday.

Maybe I'll try for something a little more adventuresome this time around -- you've inspired me!

To me, your pumpkins are like works of art.

I don't even attempt to carve faces into pumpkins. I usually take a drill and make holes in the hollowed pumpkin so the light can shine through. That's it.

Put Vaseline on the cut parts of the pumpkins and it will keep them from getting yucky as fast.

You can also soak them in water for a while to perk them back up. After all, they are a veggie. Vaseline does work too. Florist use vaseline on fruits when they put them in an arrangement. It will help seal in the moisture. They look great, by the way!
