This post is brought to you by the letter C and the number 9

I thought we could learn about the letter C and the number 9 today so we made cookies and then we glued the letter C and nine chocolate chips (brown triangles) onto our construction paper cookies. The pictures pretty well describe the experience. We only had a few mishaps...like half the flour mixture spilled all over the floor and table and one egg rolling off the table. A good time was had by all.

Tyson says: Where is Will? That is his house? Did his mom say he could eat that? Can I eat a cookie, too? Can I play the flour game?

That looks fun. It is good that you involve your kids in things. Some of us don't want to deal with the mess and then have to anyway because halfway through we allow helpers. Tyson helped me make cookies yesterday and we ended up with lots of flour on the floor. He had fun though. You are a good mommy!!

You are a great mom! No wonder you feel overwhelmed you do so much with them. Maybe you should be more like me and totally ignore your kids. Lay in bed and read books all day long and let them run around and torture each other. Then you will feel more rested! J/K. I think you are awesome!
You are a great mom....I don't do so many things with Emma because Andrew doesn't sit still for anything and just destroys any project we do try....sigh....but I need to do more.....you've inspired me.

You have extraordinary patience. I wish I could let my girls make such a mess. I get all stressed about it, but why? They'll just go make an equally horrifying mess with toys or whatever else they find if I don't have them help. :) You are a good mom. I miss you!!

"A good time was had by all." What, do you write for the Leland times? Or Spanish Fork Press?

Great pictures. Looking forward to seeing you and Eli in a little over a month. -Jess
Thanks everyone. I didn't post this so you could all say how wonderful a mother I am, although I am huh? ;)

Actually, I was thinking while I made cookies with them that I hope they remember these things and that I needed to write them down so that one day they can remember that there were brief periods of time where I actually had a small amount of patience with them and that I truly love them.
Wow Adrianne, I think that this is the first time that I have seen your blog and your family. I cant believe that you have three boys and might I add super cute boys. The oldest one is going to be a knockout! I wish you the best of luck. You never know maybe our paths will cross at some point in time like Lindseys and mine have. Love the comments.keep them coming
Love you cous!

You are WAY more patient than I am. It's funny because when we were teenagers, I used to do all the babysitting. You used to not really like to. I think the tables have turned. You have turned into "super mom". I'm so amazing at you. I never do these kinds of activities with Eva because I don't want the mess afterward. Where do you find the energy to do all this? I'm so amazed.

Looks like a very fun activity. I love cooking messes with the children, then I know they've had so much fun. And with cooking it's usually contained to the kitchen so it's not so bad to clean up. Other messes, not so fond of, like the time when Scott poured fish food down the basement steps or spilled chocolate milk mix all over the floor and then played in it. Those messes, not so great.
Wow, Adrianne. You've managed to trick everyone. I notice you left the yelling and beating of the boys after the mess out of the story, and the fact that the flour was still on the flour when I got home that evening is magically not present...very tricky of you.

These comments make me laugh, except for Mike's. How dare he let everyone know I really beat my kids after the mess and left it all out for him to clean up?

Actually, I cleaned it all up but didn't get all the sweeping done. While I was cooking dinner, I asked him if he would sweep for me and he swept everything but the flour mess! He said, "Oh, I didn't notice it." The truth is, my friends here in Oklahoma know that you can come to my house pretty much whenever and see messes like this all the time. I wish we were cleaner and I try but sometimes things just don't get done.
In fact, I would strongly discourage anyone from coming to my house today because even if you called first, it is highly unlikely that I could get the house cleaned by the time you got here.
