Just an update

My favorite thing about little boys
This week we have been doing lots of stuff. First off, we found a mouse in our house this week. We bought traps but haven't had any luck catching him. When we went to Utah my family would leave the front door open forever and I don't think a single fly came in the house. Here, there are flies everywhere. We bought fly paper but haven't had luck with the fly paper. So, it seems that our little traps aren't very trappy. It's annoying. I have dreams about spiders, flies, and mice all night long.

Isaac is sick. He has had a cough for a month but it was only at night. Now it is all the time and really gross. I've been giving him Albuteral but it makes him totally hyper and he won't sleep after I give it to him. That is also annoying.

Primary has been giving me headaches! I am in charge of the program and I never had any idea so many details went into the program. Along with that, I had a teacher be totally nasty to me. She then went to the bishop and asked to be released. Mike advised me to call her and talk to her again and see if things could be patched up. I did and she was even more nasty. So now we are stuck covering her class and she has lost a friend. Anyway, there is a lot more involved then I am writing obviously. Now I am stuck having to find names to submit to the bishop and it seems totally pointless because every name I submit is a big fat "No." I am left wondering if I either haven't prayed hard enough for direction or if the bishopric has no faith in my abilities to receive inspiration for the Primary--maybe a little of both.

This post is kind of a bummer but there are some good things that have happened this week. Mike had his promotion ceremony. It isn't a big deal in the Air Force because he only went from 2nd to 1st lieutenant. All that has to happen to get promoted is to be in for two years. Even so, it's a big deal to us. We now get lots more money. Mike is totally excited about that. The ceremony was very official and it was really cool to go and see everyone make a big deal of Mike. His job is very classified so the boys and I had to get special clearances to come in the building. We had to have an escort at all times and any time we went through certain doors everyone would yell, "Uncleared" as we walked by so that the workers would know they had to stop talking about anything work related so I couldn't hear anything. It was very interesting.

Anyway, I can't waste any more time on the computer. I have to get an appointment for Isaac, get some groceries, fold laundry, take the boys for a walk, and work on more Primary stuff.

Abby loves Isaac's hair. Probably because she wakes up with awful hair, so it's nice for her to see someone else with bedhead. Leah's hair is perfect when she wakes up, but Abby's is a mess!

Good luck with primary and Isaac's cough. Leah used to get coughs that would last a long time until the doctor put her on Singulair for asthma and she has only had a cough for a few days in the last 5 months!

Brent's job is classified too. It's wierd to hear that for some meetings they have to leave phones and all that kind of stuff outside the door. I'm sure the engineers at his work have a much higher clearance than he does though. The kids always want to go to see his office and it's always a "sorry, you can't come inside the building".

Oh, and Jen-- You can tell Abby that Sarah gets some nasty bedhed too! We call her Medusa around here. Thankfully, she thinks that's funny.
Jen, when I took Isaac to the doctor she said he has a sinus infection and that she thinks he has asthma but he is too young to tell so I have to give him some steroids every 12 hours and something else. He has to take both every day for at least a month if not more. I just worry about the coming cold season because all the RSV stuff comes back every time he gets a cold and it isn't even that time of the year yet where everyone gets sick.

I'm glad Abby likes his hair!

Chels, It was kind of weird to be in there. They wouldn't let us take a camera in for the ceremony but they took pictures for us. He is going on a deployment soon but can't tell anyone where he is going. It's crazy. I think he likes the mystery though.

I am so glad you took Isaac to the doctors. And that there is something more wrong with him than just a cough (not that I want him to be sick, I hope you know what I mean!). Good to get whatever else is going on out of his system before the cold weather.

I think I am going to spend the next week yelling "uncleared" whenever I walk by an open door, just for my own entertainment. It seems cool.

Which teacher was nasty? The one you have had trouble with? I am sorry for you, but maybe it was answer to prayers...Good luck!

I think that primaries are the same everywhere you go. We have those same problems-never enough people for callings, bishopric says no (or the people we try to call say NO), teachers don't like us, program is a total mess...etc. Sometimes it's easy for me to feel like just a facilitator/fire extinguisher and nothing more. It's like, can't we all just get along and help the kids learn about the Savior? Please! So, just know that your primary is not alone in it's struggles!
Jessie, I am glad that I took him in too. I have to give him a breathing treatment every 12 hours and that is torture for him and therefore, torture for me! But I will be glad to have it all taken care of. The funny thing about the uncleared thing is that they tease that anyone that doesn't have a real clearnace is "unclean". It's kind of funny because someone said to me, "It's ok, I'm unclean too."

Lisa, I'm glad to know that we are not the only ones with a crazy primary. The one area in Primary that everyone is happy about is the music leader. She is awesome.

We're doing the Albuteral at our house too, with a nebulizer for Zach. Poor babies!

Sorry about your primary woes. I'm supposed to play the piano for our program and I still make so many mistakes--I need to practice. Good luck on your program.

I'm sorry to hear that Isaac is sick. But I am glad that you took him to the doctor. We struggled with Lindsey when she was a baby for about 12 months before we finally figured out that she had asthma, not chronic bronchitis. She had an asthma attack and could easily have died if I hadn't rushed her to the hospital. Asthma & colds/bronchitis can mask themselves when you are dealing with babies.
Do you remember how jittery and funny Ammon was when he was really little after we gave him his Albuterol treatments?
Do you remember all our mouse issues? Ugh.... That's why I love our house. It seems to be mouse proof.

Poor sick baby, I'm so sorry. Sick kids make everything harder. And the flies, oh I totally experience the same thing. I put some bug spray on the window seals (where the girls can't get to) and that seems to have made a big difference. Those stupid flies always make their way there and they die instantly. HAHAAHAAA! If they're so desperate to get outside, why did they come inside in the first place!!!
