Memorable happenings in 2006

We are still in Maryland but go home on Wed. and then we will post lots of pictures. Until then, I thought I'd still Katie Richey's idea of posting memorable moments of the past year.

1. We found out I was pregnant
2. Mike went to Alabama and Will and Adrianne went to Utah
3. We all came home and left again a few weeks later to Ohio
4. Will turned one!
5. We found out we were having a boy
6. We buy our first home
7. We spend an entire summer in hot, miserable weather so many days are spent in the water
8. We discover our house is falling apart and will cost us lots of money to fix
9. Isaac comes a month early
10. Visits from moms!
11. Mike gets called to the Bishopbric
12. Will goes to Nursery
13. We spend Christmas in Maryland

We've had a great year with the typical ups and downs. We hope you all had as good a year as we did.

Katie, the weather in Oklahoma is really dry and hot and the houses are built on clay so when there is a really bad heat wave the ground shifts and the houses sink unevenly. When we bought the house and had it inspected it was fine and passed inspection but within three months the house started cracking and moving. The summer was really dry and really hot (which made being pregnant awful!)so we had to put a soaker hose on around the house every day to help the clay be moist but it didn't work. So now we have to have someone come and put these steel piers under the house to jack the house up and then we have to put new floor boards down and new paint in the house to cover the cracks. It's an expensive, time-consuming project and Mike vows we are never buying a house again. I doubt that is true but it has been very stressful for him.
