Random

A couple of random things:

1.  Mike has been working towards his PT test.  He dislikes exercise.  He runs three times a week and does push-ups and sit-up after his run.  He pretty much hates all of it.  He is starting to see the value of his back exercises and running because he said that his back hurts him less when he runs regularly and he always does his back stretches and exercises every morning.  Even though he has always done well on the PT test, he was kind of nervous about it this time around because his last run ended up being slower than he thought it should be.  He ended up getting a 95%.  He also lost 20 lbs in two months.  After reading a previous post on weight thoughts, you can expect I feel a little jealous but ultimately, I'm really proud of him for making a goal and achieving it.

2.  Grandma and Grandpa Richards came into town.  They stayed for a week.  I feel a little bad because I wasn't actually ready for them to visit.  I made sure the guest room/bathroom (Will's room) was ready but besides that, I didn't do much to prepare for their visit.  We started school that week so we didn't do much fun and I didn't really plan anything fun.  We went out to dinner with them, went to this old, kind of creepy, monster mini-golf place, and went to Elitch Gardens.  Elitch Gardens would have been more fun but we were going to participate in a commercial for Elitch Gardens so we didn't actually get to ride on a lot of rides.  We did a lot of waiting around and rode a few rides and got to swim in the pool and go down a slide a few times.  We also got a free lunch.  It was a good day, just not what you would expect from a trip to Elitch Gardens.  We got free tickets out of the experience and I guess now we are famous (we only have Hulu and Netflix so we won't ever see the commercial).  Carol also took me to get a pedicure and that was a really nice break.  I wish we still lived close to them.  We loved having them near us.  They are planning on selling their house in a year and going on a mission so we are grateful for every chance we get to see them.
