Iris Fields

My friend Elizabeth is moving back to the states in a week.  Elizabeth has a gift of bringing people together and she has an adventurous spirit.  Her reputation is that she knows pretty much all there is to know about interesting places to see and how to get there.  She taught me how to use the trains and organizes most of the adventures that we go on.  All of us in our ward and in the school community are mourning her leaving because we feel sad that our adventure leader is leaving.  As our last goodbye adventure, we went to Chiba to Sawara Iris Park and a historical village close to the iris park.  Our outing lined up perfectly between a storm sandwich (days of rain, a sunny day, followed by more days of rain--a typhoon specifically).  We got lunch at a Konbini and ate on benches while we walked around the cute village and then hopped on a boat that took us down the canal.  We also took a boat around the iris fields.  It was beautiful.
