Hydrangea temple stamps and a street market

At most of the shrines and temples (at least the big ones), you can purchase temple books which you can then pay to have a page stamped and written in, often with beautiful calligraphy painted by a monk from that temple.  We bought each of the kids one at Christmas.  The girls are always really excited to take their books with them anytime we visit a new temple or shire.  The temples and shrines each have their own stamp and sometimes temples are known for specific things and their stamps reflect that.  For instance, the Nezu Shrine that I took Felicity to a few months ago is known for their azaleas.  We took the girls to a temple that sold these really pretty stamps that were hand sown hydrangeas.   I assumed we would find that the temple had hydrangeas on their grounds.  They did not, just pretty temple stamps.  The girls still enjoyed the trip and their stamps.  I got a picture of the stamps in their books but not the one with hand sown hydrangeas.  I have to glue those ones in separately.  The temple was also holding a flower sale.  A few blocks away, on the way back to the train, we saw a street market and spent a little time exploring.  We bought some street food but weren't brave enough to buy the octopus balls.  We got in line to purchase some, in a moment of courage, but when we realized you had to buy six or more, we decided we didn't want to buy that many bready balls filled with octopus inside.
