Will's baptism

Today was such a special day for our family.  My oldest got baptized today.  Unbelievable.  It makes me feel so old.  In preparation for today we had almost all of our Family Home Evenings centered around baptism, forgiveness and repentance, covenants, and the Holy Ghost for the last few months.  He got a few special gifts for his baptism from friends and family.  We gave Will a journal with a compass embossed on the front.  Mike and I both wrote our testimonies in the journal and explained that he should use this journal for writing down the special moments in his life when he would feel the spirit.  We explained that a compass was a tool meant to help us find our way and that if he used the Holy Ghost, prayer, and scripture study, he could also be directed on his path to his Heavenly Father.

Our family was unable to be here so our ward family stepped in to share this special day with us.  We are so grateful for their support.

I'm so thankful to be Will's mom.  He is such a special boy and I'm so proud of him for choosing to be baptized.

I know what you mean about feeling older when our oldest got baptized, it seemed like we turned around and then he was a deacon!

When I talked to Will shortly before he left to be baptized, I was amazed at his adult-like conversation. He was so polite and kind and sweet. I could definitely tell he was ready and more than worthy to take this step. I was so impressed with our short little conversation. I want to hear all about it.

Oh I am so happy he was able to be baptized! And what a great day! I will never forget the day he was baptized since we share a special day. he has always been such an intelligent young boy. He has a very strong testimony. I can tell. Congratulations Will!

Congrats Adrianne! You seem too young to have kids that can be baptized!

How about feeling old when your oldest is out on a mission? You are not old at all, no worries on that. I'm happy he was able to be baptized, wish we lived closer and could have shared this special day with your family. The pictures are all great.
