More about the Imp

I haven't had anything to blog about for awhile. I've being feeling blogger blues--I'm just having a hard time finding anything interesting to write about. Today is different though. Today I am writing about the MOST interesting little boy you will ever meet. I mean it.

The Imp is just the way you would expect a little redhead boy to be. He is feisty and temperamental and mischievous and oh so cute.

I'm pretty tired of fighting with him about who is going to put his diaper on. The answer is me--I'm going to put his diaper on. Eli likes to believe he will do it and tries really, really hard for about five minutes and then says, "I don't know how to do it." That's a surprise. Eli leaves a little stinky in his diaper and then says he needs to sit on the potty and will throw a fit until I take him to the potty. He sits and grunts and says, "I don't know how." He's not ready for potty training but he's on his way. That's kind of exciting, don't you think?

A few weeks ago we tried to put Eli in a toddler bed. It was not successful. At 10:30 he finally cried himself to sleep after Mike put him back in bed for about the 100th time. We tried two more times on different occasions and then I decided it was too frustrating to deal with and put him back in his crib. He can climb out of his crib but won't unless someone opens his door and tells him he can get out. I'm not sure when we will try the big boy again but it will probably happen when he realizes he can get out of his room even if we don't open his door.

Girls and The Imp don't really mesh very well. He pretty much terrorizes them. I don't think it's always on purpose though. Eli is used to playing with big brothers who wrestle and make monster noises and he likes to try those tricks on little girls and it doesn't go over well. I'm fine with him not liking girls for the next oh, 20 years. I just wish he would be a little more gentle with them.

My favorite thing about Eli lately is his cute little singing. He sings about everything. I heard him singing his prayer yesterday and today he was singing, "I can do it by myself." Eli also likes to talk about bad guys. Every day, multiple times a day he says, "Bad guy kill my bed. Bad guy kill my bed!" Every thing he says he has to repeat twice--just for good measure.

Eli has the sweetest kisses to give. He has to kiss everyone before bed, including Diamond. He also has to say every prayer and if it's not his turn he has to say his own prayer before he will eat.

We love our crazy Eli. It's hard to believe so much personality can be housed in such a small little body.

Yes, he needs a hair cut. His hair is starting to curl on the ends. It's adorable. And those eyes! I love them. If you can guess the color, you win the prize. We still can't tell what color they are but they have some grey, blue, green, and brown. I'm pretty sure he's thinking about those bad guys killing his bed in the second picture.

He is adorable. Love all that red hair. Where did all that come from?
Michelle, his hair came from Mike. Mike has a red beard.
